Merry Christmas!

Here are a bunch of pictures from our Christmas trip to Lumberton/ Lake Charles. Lucy had a great time hanging out with family. We got spoiled with lots of good food, relaxation and fun gifts.

Lucy had fun with her Papaw Dale and Uncle Carson and lots of playing with the dog.

She definitely got the hang of opening presents and wanted to help everyone open theirs.

Lucy got her own kitchen!! (which Sam is assembling as I type....)
Uncle Carson and his new guitar.
and now for a ton pictures of Lucy in her Christmas dress... because she was too cute...

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas is coming!

Lots of fun activities have been going on since we got back from Mexico, Friday was my work Christmas party. I am usually a scrooge about seeing people from work over the weekend so I've never gone, but I'm so glad we went this year because we had a blast!
I organized a field trip for our third graders to go see the Nutcracker at the Winspear Opera House downtown (not only was this a great way for me to see the Nutcracker for cheap ha!) But, it was so cute to see the kids all dressed up. It was a fun outing from school.

And of course, we're always chasing this little goose around the house.

Thanksgiving in Mexico

We were so thankful to spend our Thanksgiving in Riviera Maya, Mexico!

'Uncle Creepy' with Lucy, Maria, and Layla after a day of swimming

we took a LONG drive out to Chichenitza- Sam reminded us throughout the week how important it was that we see these ruins... as they are one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Lucy even braved the cold cave waters to go snorkeling with us at Xcaret! It was such a great trip and we had a great time playing and relaxing with Abue, Papa, Jake, Kelly, Maria and Layla!

Pumpkin Patch, Zoo and more!

Some catching up to do! Halloween week I took Lucy poodle and her cousin Eli to the Flower Mound pumpkin patch which was so cute! Poor Eli did not want his aunt Brittany taking any more pictures of him and Lucy, but I did manage to snag a picture of him playing. Lucy is getting used to constantly having to pose for photos.

We had a book character day before Halloween at my school. This is me with my partner teacher Mayra. I was the Lion the Witch AND the wardrobe, Mayra was the cheese touch from the Diary of a Whimpy Kid. My class to left were the Kings and Queens of Narnia.
Lucy is testing out her walking legs more and more... she'll take 2 or three steps and then end in a tumble. I'm sure she'll be cruising more confidently in NO time!
Last night we went to the annual zoo fundraiser- the Dallas Zoo To Do. Sam's company made a large contribution to the Zoo so they chose ten employees to attend the event and Sam was one of them! It was fun to pretend to be the Elite of Dallas for a night- we were sitting at the table next to the Mayor of Dallas!
They had lots of animals out of their cages for us to touch and as we walked around we could taste food from all of the finest chefs in Dallas and all the drinks we'd like.

They had a live auction which was fun to watch... (couldn't believe how much money people would pay for some of the items!!) We got into the auction spirit and bid on a San Antonio get away weekend and WON! So sometime in the next year we'll be relaxing at La Cantera Resort in San Antonio with our passes to the Zoo and Caverns!

Where was Lucy during all of this fun you ask?? My friend Mayra watched her for the night and took Lucy to her first Mavs game! Hard to believe that Lucy's first NBA game wasn't with her Daddy- but Mayra reports that Lucy had a great time. All in all- a big night for Swansons.

Finally fall weather!

Here is a photo of Lucy and I cheering on the Rangers in game 2 of the American League Championship Series. We are so thankful our family got to be a part of the excitement! - ready to cheer them on in the World Series!
We have been busy, busy.... but not too busy to enjoy the fall weather with Lucy! She LOVES being outside.

Check out those pig tails!!

One sneak peak of our family photo shoot down town last weekend! They came out great and I can't wait to share them all- we just have to decide which ones we are keeping!

Lucy is ONE!

One year with Lucy- she's done a really good job of fitting in nicely to our little family. What a fun year we've had learning all about her. She has been such an easy baby every step of her first year. She is so smart and so sweet and we can already tell that she has a great personality and a good sense of humor. I don't think we could have ever guessed how fun much fun we would have being Lucy's parents! We are so grateful that the Lord blessed us with such a wonderful little girl to be in our family! Happy Birthday Sweet Lucy Jema!!

Here are a few shots from the small party we had this weekend to celebrate! Lucy has been having so much fun with all of her new toys! Thanks to everyone that came and shared this big event with us!!!
