Celebrating Christmas

And the trip begins.... Lucy- loaded up and ready for a roadtrip. She was an AMAZING little traveler.

Hanging out in the Bumbo chair for the first time at Mimi's house.

Uncle Carson couldn't wait to read Lucy a story he had written at school.

Dad got Carson Beatles Rockband for Christmas and it was SO fun! I can't wait to play again.

Our sweet little girl on Christmas morning. ^

Teaching Lucy about the traditional English Christmas Cracker Crown.

Lucy loves this little toy that we named "Sir Walter" from her Great- Grandmother

Maybe next year Lucy will be more AWAKE for opening her presents.

lately

Back to Work - back to work has been just fine. Of course I miss Lucy all day long but she has been very well cared for. This week was a fun week at school for the kiddos- a local church donates bounce houses for the kids to play in and toys for each kid and Santa comes to deliver them.

Pastor Matt- I recently posted about our Pastor Matt Chandler. Our church sent out an email update on Wednesday that the pathology report came in from his tumor and it is malignant. We are waiting to here more about Matt's treatment options but obviously this was pretty devestating news for his family and the church. This blog by JR. Vassar really put to words our thoughts and feelings http://jrvassar.posterous.com/thinking-of-my-friend-matt-chandler-and-the-d

Latest on Lucy- Lucy has been a very happy little girl lately. Sleeps in her crib like a pro. Her 2 month check up was Monday and in case you were interested here are her stats:
Height: 22 3/4 in.- 70th Percentile
Weight: 10lbs- 20th Percentile
Way to grow Lucy.

Talking to Daddy

Sam has been having some conversations with Lucy. He talks to her for a bit and because she is fascinated by her daddy- she always responds with some kind of coo or sigh. In the photo below I like to think she is trying to trick her dad into buying her a pony...

And this photo almost looks like she is saying "but pleeeaasse!"....

No pony this year.... but I would like to brag that Lucy spent 8+ glorious hours sleeping peacefully in her crib last night. Ahhh- the feeling of refreshment.

On my heart...

1. Heavy on my heart today has been our pastor Matt Chandler. When the church sent out an email Thanksgiving evening that Matt had collapsed from a seizure and doctors discovered a tumor in his brain- we were greatly saddened and concerned by the news. Matt is currently undergoing brain surgery to have the tumor removed and we are hopeful for his recovery. Even through this difficult trial- Matt has ministered to our church and many others who follow his ministry by demonstrating his steadfast faith. Matt wrote this blog this morning before going into surgery. We are praying for his complete healing.

2. I am going back to work on Monday. I am thankful that I have a job- a job that I really enjoy and I am thankful for the wonderful women that will be taking care of Lucy during the day. But- I have tons of anxiety about being apart from her. So pray that I am not an emotional basket case all week back at work. Who wouldn't want to spend the day with a beautiful face like this...
