Happy Birthday Sam!

Happy 24 to my super fantastic, always funny, good to look at, full of random knowledge, life of the party, adventurous, hardworking, not at all nerdy, kind and compassionate, best basketball player ever husband! Love you Sam!

Day 3- Adventure Puerto Rico

Day 3 in fabulous Puerto Rico we adventured! First, we drove out to a town called Fajardo and went to a public beach which was certainly not touristy- we felt like real locals soaking up the sun. After a few hours on the beach we drove up the mountain to El Yunque- the national Rain Forest. We had some fun climbing around the waterfall and some great views from the top of the mountain. That night we drove through Old Town San Juan which had beautiful cobble stone streets that really felt so much like Europe but the traffic was so heavy that we couldn't even find a place to park so the only shots I got were from the car window. We loved Puerto Rico and hope to go back and see more someday!

Day 2- Reception

Corey and Tay's wedding reception was at a beautiful reception hall up on the mountain with plenty of gardens. After some Puerto Rican cuisine we got to cut a rug with the latinos and dance lots of Salsa. I think Sam and I have finally found our dancing niche- Salsa! We had a blast dancing the night away outside in the beautiful gardens.

Day 2- Wedding

Here are a few shots from the beach in the morning and the ceremony.

Day 1

After a 5:45am flight, a lay over in Atlanta, picking up the lovely rental Kia Rhondo and navigating the streets of San Juan- we made it to our hotel in time to catch a little sun on the beach and celebrate with Corey the night before his wedding.

So crafty

Voila, my latest craft project. Kelly told me I was being selfish by not sharing my craft projects with others- So here is my latest! I am super proud of this messenger bag. I did it in a night because it was a slow weekend for me but a busy one for Sam. I wanted just the right bag for our upcoming summer trips to carry on the plane so I made it myself!

I tricked Sam into buying me flowers. HA! On Friday I emailed him at work and offered to eat Krystal Burgers and watch Robocop with him and he showed up at home with these! And... I didn't even have to watch Robocop or eat yucky Krystal burgers! Sucker. Just kidding, he's just a great guy :)

Party Weekend

This past weekend was full of parties! We had a baby shower for Becka at our house on Friday night and then snuck a suprise breakfast in for Kelly on Saturday morning. It was fun to have a house full of people celebrating but I didn't get many pictures.... too busy hostessing.

I also got a little taste of home at my good friend Brittany (Bean)'s graduation party on Saturday. We joined her family by the lake for a Lumberton-style fish fry. It was fun to hang out with Bean- She's moving to New York next week to be a fabulous fashion designer!

In short, I mean brief, I mean... wow.

Thanks to dad Swanson's goodwill pile- Sam and Corey were able to treat everyone to a retro Sunday basketball game. Ow Ow! If I knew how to whistle- I would.

German Fest

Another year of German fest for us... here are a few shots from the 5K and festival...

Sam, Freeze and Dave. It was a cold morning considering it was the last weekend in April! Sam was quite fashionable with his jacket UNDER his traditional jersey.

Maggie, Elise, Stacy, Me and Brittany (Bean).

The after shot^ No trophies this year but I am celebrating the fact that the girls managed to stay in a pack for the most part and I didn't throw up on the finish line this year! hooray!

Everyone attempted to climb the pole (except me- someone has to be photographer!)
