the 100 degree weather is here... so where is my vacation??

(enlarge the top photo to get a glimps of Lucy's first two teeth!)

Well- Sam and I got in the car yesterday and the temperature said 108 degrees. It is HOT. So Lucy is now the proud owner of a back yard pool. She is loving splashing around in her pool- but she especially loves drinking from the water hose- what a refined taste she has!
Seems like every school on the planet is on Summer vacation- but I am still teaching until Thursday- Help! Summer come quick!

Memorial Day Weekend

To celebrate the 3 day weekend we drove down to Houston and stayed at Sam's sister Becka and husband Jared's house. We went down to Galveston on Saturday and had a blast with the kids on the beach.

Lucy loved the beach- we had to keep an eye on those fistfulls of sand going straight to her mouth!!

Layla cracked everyone up- refusing to take off her swim cap!

Lucy even took a nap in the sand! I think I can safely say she's the little beach bum I always hoped to have.

Busy week

Last week we celebrated Sam finishing up his MBA! We had a "surprise" dinner for him at our house with the ice cream cake Sam always wanted. He has worked so hard for the last 3 years all while taking care of his family- I am very proud of him!

Then, we headed down to San Marcos for Melanie's graduation from Texas State

After the graduation we went to lunch and stopped for a little dancing at Gruene Hall.
We stayed with the Hogg's in Austin for the weekend and finally got to meet little Hudson! I can't wait for Lucy and Hudson to be good buddies.

Last night we took Lucy out for her first Rangers Baseball game against the Cubs! She always loves hanging out with Jackie and Jeremy

Now it's Sunday night... and I am always a little sad to see our weekends come to an end. Three more weeks and I am home for summer!! Can't wait for all the extra time with sweet Lucy. Thankful that I am blessed with two months at home with her!
Oh- and a side note- Lucy was AMAZING on our trip to San Marcos- giggly and fun the whole time and what do we see on Monday- not one but two bottom teeth poked through. So it turns out that she's even awesome when teething.

German Fest

Every year Sam runs the 5k fun run at GermanFest in Muenster, TX. This year Sam ran with Lucy in tow. 2007, 2008, 2009 (click the links for German fests past. And these are just since I've kept a blog!)

Here they are whizzing past me on the way to the finish line. Lucy was the first baby to cross the finish!

Here is Lucy- basking in her victory.

My Co-workers Amanda and Mayra came along for the day.

How could we pass up that photo-op??

And... a little video to show off Lucy's favorite new activity. Ignore my loud voice in the background.

Brag post.

Well- if you think this blog is Lucy-centric then this is NOT the post for you! Click away and save this post for Lucy's adoring grand parents and great-grandparents. I just had to document and share some of her recent cuteness.

Last night, Lucy enjoyed a little 'roll on the floor naked' time.

She sure is getting good at sitting on her own! We always have a hand close behind her but she was up long enough for me to snap a few shots of her sitting on her own :)

Thanks for the package of clothes Mimi! Lucy thought your packing tasted delicious! (and I thought the clothes inside of it were awesome!)

This video is good for my soul. If you are a fan of Lucy, it will be good for your soul too.

quarter of a century.

Here are some photos from the celebration of my awesome 25th birthday! My third grade students and my partner teacher suprised me with decorations and donuts when I got to work in the morning.

Then, Sam took me out for a much needed dinner date at Maggiano's. D-lish.

No post is complete without a picture of my sweetie. Lucy is so great- her new favorite activity is to cruise and dance in the kitchen while I get dinner ready and listen to music. We are still constantly amazed by what a happy, easy-going baby she is.

Easter and some...

Dad and Carson came up to Dallas for a visit Easter weekend and Lucy was thrilled to see them both. Above is a photo of Sam and Carson... playing one of the longest games of Stratego ever recorded. (and what trip to Dalas is complete for Carson without a game of laser tag?)

Obviously we thought Lucy was simply scrumptious in her Easter dress... mmm.....

And a big shout out to Lucy's newest buddy http://blessingsabounding.blogspot.com Hudson Hogg born today! Welcome to the world Hudson! (Hudson's mom and dad are good ol High school pals of mine!)
