Okay, we can't keep it a secret any longer!

Okay, we can't keep it in any more! We have to share with everyone our latest... we're in the process of buying a house!! We fell in love with this house a few weeks ago and haven't been able to get it off of our minds since... so last Saturday we made an offer and entered into a contract on the house. The inspection went well yesterday and we've been trying not to get too excited until things are more set in stone but... as far as we can tell, everythings working out great! The house is only a mile or two from our apartment now, so we're excited about that. Hopefully the first week in October we'll have everyone over.... to help us move!!!

News Flash...

So, we took advantage of the tax free shopping this weekend so that I could buy back to school clothes....FOR MY NEW JOB!!! That's right, Friday was my last day at the 'ol Montessori school and I couldn't have been more thrilled. This is how it went down... Tuesday evening I was driving home from work (no make up and covered in baby spit-up) and my phone rings and the voice on the other end asks me if I was still looking for a teaching position and could I meet with her right away. So, without going home to change I rushed over to Richardson and met with the Principal for a quick interview (apologizing of course for my poor appearance). I told her that if I was the right person for the position she should let me know as soon as she could so that I could give my work as much notice as possible... so we said our goodbyes and before we left for Tuesday night bowling, she had already called me back with an offer! So, starting on Monday I'll be teaching ESL for grades k-6! Quitting my job was really awkward but I was glad to do it. I'll miss some of my kiddos and all of the parents were so nice about saying goodbye and wishing me goodluck so that was nice. So yay, I'll post pictures of my new classroom sometime this week!

We have other fun news to come.... :) We've had a big week!

Sam's new shoes.

So, Wednesday night I convinced Sam that instead of him going to play basketball, we should just go buy him new basketball shoes because his had a big crack in them and then have a nice evening together at home. But, somehow with a less than one minute phone call... Brian Rawlins convinced him to leave and go play ball anyways and in a flash Sam was out the door! Cool B-Roll. Anyways... Sam made me try on his new shoes so that he could see "how awesome he would look on the court in action". So, voila... Sam's shoes in action and me grumply posing in them.

Sam's greatest fear...

So several months ago, I showed Sam a website my sociology professor gave us to describe "deviant behavior". Apparently ever since, it has give him nightmares and turns out, this just may be his greatest fear. I know that he has passed this along to some of you but I thought I would share for laughs.... http://www.pixyland.org/peterpan/

Here are some pics from our trip to Schlitterbahn! We had a great time hanging out with friends and even seeing my family!! It was a really nice treat to have lunch and dinner with my family while we were there! The above pictures are from the car trip down, Sam and Kathleen broke the rules and ate fun dip in the borrowed car. whoops. Kathleen got better pictures from the trip so you can click the link "Eric and Kathleen" to the right to see hers!
PS. Where's my motivation to post when there aren't any comments? eh?

For the sake of something new when you click our link.

Sorry it's been so long since we updated, we just haven't had anything too exciting to post about! We've actually spent the last two weekends being really lazy.
Every Tuesday night we meet friends for dollar bowling, this week Eric and Kathleen joined in, I'm sure she's about to bowl a stike in the picture. Above is a picture of Sam going to check out a house for sale. We know the couple that owns it so we thought we'd check it out. Even if we're not immediately ready to buy one, it's still fun to look, so we're going to look at 5 different houses with our realtor friend Chad today!
Work update: So most of you know that I took classes and passed my test to be elementary teacher certified so I've been applying for jobs like crazy and had a couple of interviews but so far no luck, apparently there are too many elementary teachers. So that has been really frustrating and stressful because I'm trying to do these interviews without my work catching on. Sam is really enjoying his job and has nothing but great things to say about it! Luckily we have some trips coming up which gives me something to look forward to in the midst of all this job frustration. For those of you going, we're in on the Schiltterbahn trip and getting really excited about it! We're also going to New Mexico for Labor Day and doing some white water rafting so and I've been making the reservations and preparations.
Well, lots of typing and not many pictures, sorry. More exciting stuff to come....
